Programme 2012 : Sunday July 1st to Sunday August 12th
For its 46th consecutive summer, Chantemerle welcomes more than 100 boys and girls ages 6 to 16 to learn a new language and spend an unforgettable summer, meeting old friends and making new ones.
Students can choose to stay between two to six weeks. During this period, they will study French or English in the mornings and play sports or participate in cultural and fun activities in the afternoons, evenings and at weekends.
Summer school fees are all inclusive (tuition, airport and train station transfers, all activities ) excepted pocket money, private transportation and courses, medical costs.
Language classes at Chantemerle
Language courses at Chantemerle follow the European Framework of Language Studies (DELF and Cambridge programmes). At arrival, students have their level assessed. Students' progress are tested weekly using official DELF exams. The cultural dimension of Switzerland is studied as well as its historical and geographical aspects.
The programme is not a fixed block. This means that each course is unique. If a student stays for six weeks, he/she will study something new each week. The programme is great value for money because there are no hidden extras in the price – Summer school fees are all inclusive (tuition, airport and train station transfers, all the activities).
In the afternoons, evenings and week-ends sport, excursions and various workshops are organized. Highlights of the summer are the 2-day trip to EUROPA-PARK, the Chantemerle's Circus & Talent show as well as the overnight and outdoor adventures.
Chantemerle is exceptionally well located near Montreux and Geneva, overlooking lake Léman and the Swiss Alps. Blonay, a charming and picturesque village is renowned for its 13th century castle and its antique steam train that passes at the foot of the property.
The school is situated on 3 acres of land with a private forest and river. Most sports (tennis, basketball, volleyball) and games facilities are available on campus.
The well-being of each child is our top priority. As a boarding school, Chantemerle provides permanent supervision. Direction, teachers and staff live on premises and ensure safety and comfort for each student. Classrooms, communal and leisure spaces are located inside 4 buildings. Lodging is organized by age and gender with chalet-style rooms fitting 2 to 4 students.
