Students in their final year sit an official external examination, the French 'Diplôme National du Brevet'. This exam certifies their overall general knowledge and is an important milestone for those students who wish to acquire the internationally recognised French baccalaureat. Each year, students prepared for that examination obtain excellent results, proof of the quality of the teaching at Chantemerle.

| The secondary section gathers approximately 30 students spread over 4 classes. Teaching a small class comes with many benefits for the student: teachers can offer one-on-one assistance at times and are more likely to meet their individual needs.
Compulsary afternoon and evening homework are designed to reinforce what students have already learned through practical exercices, memorizing and reciting. Upon request and after evaluation, tailored support courses are offered to students who demand closer attention. Particular attention is given to teaching the students the methods and organization skills that are necessary to continue successfully in their studies.
The programme is also suitable for non French-speaking students who wish to enter the French official curriculum or simply experience a full immersion in a French-speaking environment. Students receive intensive French courses and are progressively integrated into the normal academic programme.
